About Us
We are Eliza (blonde) and Mari (brunette). We have been together for over ten years and married since 2005. We have been together for over ten years. Eliza is a college professor and Mari works in development for a non-profit organization.
We live in a city in Upstate New York – about 2.5 hours north of New York City. It’s small enough to get around easily, but big enough to have the cultural attractions that we enjoy. We like the fact that we live in an urban neighborhood and can still get outside quickly to hike, bike and ski. Our house is a comfortable bungalow on a tree-lined street with lots of families. We live just two blocks from a well-regarded public elementary school and three blocks from the public library.
Our first meeting with Philip in Guatemala
In July 2007, we brought our son Philip home from Guatemala and life got much more fun. Although we have both traveled and experienced a lot in our lives, parenthood has been our greatest adventure yet. We have an approved homestudy from our adoption agency and can’t wait to raise a little brother or sister alongside Philip in our joyful home.
This profile is just a brief glimpse of who we are, but we hope you can see that we have a lot of love to share. Our family is filled with laughter, hugs and warmth as well as lots of opportunities to learn and explore. We are excited about open adoption because we feel there can never be too many people to love a child.
